About Sports Injury Rehab

Let me tell you a little about Sports Injury Rehab and myself. My name is Barton Anderson, and I am a certified athletic trainer. I specialize in sports injury rehab, with a focus on movement patterns, neuromuscular control, and knee rehabilitation.

In 2004, I created Sports Injury Info, a website dedicated to providing information on sports injuries, their treatment, and prevention. Since that time, SII has grown into a large site with over 1500 pages of sports injury information. It's primary focus is on sports injuries, and while there is some information about rehabilitation, I felt like I needed a dedicated site that focuses on all of the different aspects of recovering from an injury. So, in 2010, I started working on building a comprehensive website where visitors can learn about sports injury rehab.

I have been nationally certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification since 1999, and am licensed as an athletic trainer in the state of Arizona. As a certified and licensed healthcare professional, I've dedicated my life to helping athletes of all ages and levels to recovering from their sports injury.

Currently I serve as an assistant professor of athletic training and clinical education coordinator for a Post-Professional Athletic Training Education Program. Through this position, I teach advanced rehabilitation courses, provide clinical mentoring for my students, and engage in clinical research in my areas of specialty. I also spend one day a week at a sports performance clinic in Scottsdale, where I work with athletes to improve their overall functional performance.

I worked for 10 years as a certified athletic trainer in the high school, collegiate, and clinical settings before moving to Arizona. I received my BS in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Missouri State University, and my MS in Sports Health Care (Athletic Training) from AT Still University.

Throughout my career, I have had a strong passion for helping others, and a love of rehabilitation. Guidance through the recovery process, and focused, meaningful rehabilitation is vital for a successful recovery from injury, as well as in the prevention and performance enhancement areas.

I hope that you find the information on this site helpful - some of the ideas and exercises that I present may be new to you, but I am a firm believer in taking a whole person, mind/body/spirit for preventing and treating sports injuries.

All the Best!

Bart
